Desertification is the gradual degradation of fertile soils in arid and semi-arid zones of the planet. Now, humans and their activities are the principal cause of this process. Impoverished people living in rural areas of developing countries are the most vulnerable and most seriously affected. In this lesson, students are first asked to read information on the desertification in Mali and an organization that helps prevent this phenomenon, and afterwards, to compose a 250-word text to promote the activities of said organization. The task will verify their ability to clarify the desired information. [Source : In-terre-Actif website]
